You guys would have heard about rollable displays… right?

look at a chinese designer’s dream!

Cellphone Inspired By Chinese Scrolls

As
flexible displays come to market, designers are asked how they can
design products that utilize the technology while remaining meaningful.
Yun Liang’s scroll cellphone takes its inspiration from how
traditional Chinese paintings are unfurled.

When not in use, the display neatly rolls into the tube. All numeric
key functions remain tactile running along the side of the scroll as
opposed to touchscreen. This makes it possible to use without having to
unroll the screen. You would only do so when accessing media and data.

It
always happens this way. You go through your entire morning routine,
gulp scalding hot coffee, suffer traffic, only to show up at the office
and find out the company had the day off. If only your boss had texted
you in the morning informing you of the gratis day off. Now they can!
Your text messages appear as luminous text on the mirror surface. It’s
ideal because these days all your important messages are transmitted
via SMS rather than the so outdated phone call. All yours for a measly
$10 grand.

ABUJA (Reuters) – Nigerian schoolchildren who received laptops from a U.S. aid organization have used them to explore pornographic sites on the Internet, the official News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported Thursday.

NAN said its reporter had seen pornographic images stored on several of the children’s laptops.

“Efforts to promote learning with laptops in a primary school in Abuja have gone awry as the pupils freely browse adult sites with explicit sexual materials,” NAN said.

A representative of the One Laptop Per Child aid group was quoted as saying that the computers, part of a pilot scheme, would now be fitted with filters.
